Winning Chess Tournaments for Juniors

If you already know the very basics (if you don't know the basics skip this book and get CHESS FOR JUNIORS) you will not find a single other book (or series of chess books for that matter) that tells you what this book does. SECREATS OF SUCCESS by the most successful teacher in the United States of all time (36 first place winners at the national championships - intruction of chess to over 160,000 children by the author personally, both national and world records at both levels).

This book will teach you the pattern recognition you need to make you great and covers all aspects of chess.  For a player who knows the basics who wants to be a winner no book is better!
Unbeatable Chess Lessons for Juniors

If you are looking to improve your game then get this book. Robert Snyder (the author, the most succesful scholastic chess teacher in the country of all time with 36 National Championship wins) takes the most instructive games he uses in his own personal lessons with his students (and has done so for many years - personally, I like some of the author's games much more than some of the so called world champions).
I was prompted to write about this book after seeing Robert Snyder teaching on Television. He was great with how he taught and how funny he was!

The games in this book have a great focus on tactics, sacrifices, building and executing attacks againt a King and openings.
What I loved were the questions asking me to find the best move. This made me think harder. And the GENERAL RULES as they apply to certain situations helped me learn a lot.
More Unbeatable Chess for Juniors

Like in the authors previous book, "Unbeatable Chess Lessons for Juniors" this book contains a good number of the authors games that he knows best. It also contains a lot of excellent games used once again in actual lessons given by the author. Only having this experience can give a deep insight into what is going on in the mind of the student. The analysis is very accurate, and the author does a fantastic job of telling what is going on in the games. Every move has commentary. This book continues where "Unbeatable Chess Lessons for Juniors" left off and fills in the gaps by providing another 24 games that contain in depth coverage of excellent openings. This is a must buy for any serious chess student wanting to improve there game and part of a great series by this author.

This book is for intermediate and advanced scholastic players.
